Assigning Medical Record Numbers
In Maternity Neighborhood, we assign a Medical Record Number (Medical Record #) automatically for each chart. As well, we make it possible for you to assign your own Custom Identification (Custom ID) numbers to clients. This was done in order to eliminate confusion across different systems, and allow you to standardize based on your own preferences. The Medical Record # is the one used for lab requisitions and billing information.
On your dashboard, you can search for any chart using either the Medical Record # or the Custom ID. Your charts can also be sorted by the Custom ID by clicking on the head of that column.
To add or edit a Custom ID:
- Search a client's name and click into their chart:
- Click 'Edit' in the top-right corner of the profile tile. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see an area to input the Custom ID you would like. Save changes.
